Terms of service
These terms apply when you use qrpine.com. Using the site means you accept them.
Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and QRPine, a sole proprietorship based in Quebec, Canada. “We” means QRPine. Write to support@qrpine.com with any question about these terms.
The free generator
The generator on the home page is free, with no account. The link is written into the code itself and nothing passes through QRPine when it is scanned, so a free code works for as long as its link does. The codes and files you download are yours to use for any lawful purpose, with no credit to QRPine required.
Accounts
Dynamic codes need an account. You sign in with Google or with a code we email you. Keep access to that email address: it is how you get back into your account. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
The Dynamic plan
- The plan costs $36 US a year, plus sales tax or VAT where it applies. It is billed once a year and renews on the date you first paid, until you cancel.
- Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record and sells the plan through Link. Your card statement and receipts show Stripe or Link as the seller. Stripe's terms also apply to the payment.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing page. You keep the plan until the end of the year you paid for, and you are not charged again.
- If the price changes, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies, and the new price starts at your next renewal.
- Refunds follow our refund policy.
How dynamic codes work
- A dynamic code holds a short QRPine link that forwards each scan to the link you set.
- You can make and design codes before you pay. They start forwarding scans when you first subscribe. Until then, a scan shows that the code is not active yet.
- Once a code is live, it keeps forwarding to the last link you set, even if your plan ends. Without a plan you cannot change where it points or see its scans.
- A code stops forwarding if you delete your account, or if we disable it under “What you may not do” below.
- Codes depend on QRPine running. If we ever have to stop, we will email every account holder ahead of time.
Fair use
The plan has no limit on codes or scans for normal use: menus, packaging, signs, print and the like. If an account's use strains the service, such as creating codes in bulk by script, we will contact you before limiting anything.
What you may not do
Do not point a code, or use QRPine, to:
- spread malware, phishing or scams;
- break the law or infringe someone else's rights;
- send spam, or hide where a link really goes in order to mislead people;
- attack, overload or get around the limits of QRPine itself.
If a code breaks these rules, we may stop it from forwarding, and in serious or repeated cases close the account. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the link.
Your content
The links, names, designs and logos you add stay yours. You allow us to store and show them only as needed to run QRPine for you. Make sure you have the right to use any logo you upload.
Availability
We work to keep QRPine running and scans fast, but we cannot promise it will never be down. Print a proof and scan it before printing in quantity.
Liability
QRPine is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost sales from a code that could not be scanned, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting it cancels your plan, deletes your codes and their scans, and makes your printed dynamic codes stop working. Free codes you downloaded are not affected.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we email account holders at least 30 days before the change applies. The date below shows the last change.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and of Canada that apply there.
